New review – see a new review of Inside Creative Writing a book of  ’email interviews’ with writers from Palgrave. The review is in Writing in Education – Issue 58 – see the journal site – and asks the question: do we really need the term ‘creative’ to accompany ‘writing’ ?

Coming soon – news of  a seminar series I’m chairing in London, Autumn 2012 –     ‘Life Writing: Borderlands Between Fact and Fiction’ – confirmed contributors so far include Adam Foulds, Robert Fraser, Rachel Cusk, Nigel Warburton, Blake Morrison and Charles Fernyhough. Dates for your diary – Oct 23, Nov 6 and Nov 27 – all at Senate House, UL, Malet St – see this OU site for details

I talked about The Book of Guardians at the recent Great Writing conference at Imperial College London – and will be elaborating on the presentation in an article for a forthcoming edition of  New Writing.

Was hoping that copies of the novel would be ready to at least have on the bookstall at – Wasafiri’s Poetry Parnassus event in Cambridge in July, but sadly not only was the book not quite ready but I also got food poisoning (not serious) the night before and was unable to attend. I heard it was a great night though.
